Overdraft Transfer Protection is a service that adds a layer of protection to your personal account. Overdrafts will automatically be covered by funds available in associated accounts, as allowed by Regulation D. We can automatically transfer funds from your primary savings account cover insufficient fund checks, ATM withdrawals, electronic funds transfers, debit card transactions or other payment/withdrawal requests for you. This service does have a fee (see Fee Schedule).
When an overdraft occurs and the number of transfers as allowed by Regulation D has been exceeded, a hold will be placed on the compensating amount and the overdraft may be paid.
Courtesy Pay is a discretionary overdraft service from WCFCU.
No one is perfect, especially when it comes to your finances. A simple mistake in your checkbook can make all the difference in whether or not your checks clear from your account. West Coast Federal Credit Union understands this and wants to help.
Courtesy Pay is a service that adds a layer of protection to your personal account. We may cover insufficient fund checks, ATM withdrawals, electronic funds transfers, debit card transactions or other payment/withdrawal requests for you. Several factors can influence how far your account is to be overdrawn and fees will apply (see Fee Schedule).Using your debit card to pay for purchases will place a hold in your checking account for the amount authorized for purchases. This hold normally remains in effect until the merchant processes the transaction.
If you have $100 in your checking account and make a purchase with your debit card for $50 a hold will be placed on $50 of the funds in your account. If you then, try to make an ATM withdrawal or a purchase for $60 the transaction will be denied. To avoid your transactions being decline you can OPT-IN to West Coast FCU’s Courtesy Pay Program and your debit card and ATM transactions that exceed your available balance may continue to be approved up to $500 ($100 on new accounts).
With Courtesy Pay you have up to 30 days to bring your account to a positive balance. If you still have a negative balance at that time, our Courtesy Pay will be suspended until the account is returned to good standing, regardless if you have reached the $500.00 limit or not. If your account balance is negative for 30 days, you could lose checking privileges.
Please, always manage your finances responsibly, and know that if you need it, your credit union is there and Courtesy Pay may help. If you have further questions, please visit our office or call us at 727-462-7046.
